Draw with City, Chelsea Call Matic Fatigue
London – Chelsea drew 1-1 when confronted with Manchester City. Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic assess his team feel fatigue in the match.
Entertaining City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday (01/31/2015), Chelsea open the scoring first after Loic Remy scored in the 41st minute. But before the end of the first half, City equalized through David Silva’s flick.
In the second half, Chelsea did not create many chances. In fact, not a shot was fired by Eden Hazard et al. in the second half. Throughout the 90 minutes, Chelsea just fired three shots.
Matic said that the Chelsea game in the match against City was influenced by fitness. Serbian midfielder Chelsea assess fatigue after playing to 120 minutes against Liverpool in the semi-finals of the League Cup four days before the host City.
“Especially in the last 20 minutes of the game, we felt a little tired but I am happy because every player gave 100 percent. It’s hard to run with players City because they are fresher than us,” said Matic told Sky Sports News.
However, Matic assess draw was a fair result for both teams. These results while keeping the difference in points of both teams in the standings remain five points.
“To be honest we were expecting three points from today, but if you look at the whole game, I think a draw is a good result for both teams,” said Matic.
“We had some chances, they had some chances, and now the same, the difference of five points. We are happy because it and I hope we will keep going,” lugasnya.
