Although Liverpool yet Proposes New Contract, Johnson Hint Survive
Liverpool – Glen Johnson’s contract will expire the end of this season. Yet he did not want to bother about it though until now there has been no talks with Liverpool.
It’s been six years of red-uniformed Johnson and 2015 was the last time he settled at Anfield. Johnson has been the main choice right-back in the post prior to the arrival of Javier Manquillo this summer from Atletico Madrid.
Coincided with Johnson’s injury against Manchester City last August, Manquillo always appeared in 8 games thereafter. Johnson had just appeared over the weekend as a substitute in the match so contra West Bromwich Albion.
Manquillo okay performance so far plus the persistence of Jon Flanagan as the right-back position players, Johnson may be removed by the management end of the season. Moreover, he had aged 30 years and includes players with large salaries which is 110 thousand pounds.
Related to his future at the Merseyside club Johnson would not comment a lot and he just concentrate to continue to play well to get another position in the first team. Although its main priority is to stay in Liverpool.
“I was very calm. I just need to concentrate from week to week and not thinking about it,” Johnson said as quoted by Soccernet.
“Obviously I want to survive., But as I said that I was just worried about this week, this week, and then worry about next week and next week. Such was my live my life,” he continued.
